Bow Corridor Link Trail

Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada

The Bow Corridor Link Trail is a part of the TransCanada trail network and links the hamlet of Deadman’s Flats to the popular Heart Creek day use area. This particular section of trail runs almost eight kilometres and is rated expert for a good portion of trail. A challenging singletrack with Technical Trail Features (TTFs) including stairs, ladders and bridges, make this an exciting ride for the experienced rider. Expect short, but steep, uphill’s and narrow singletrack that runs along the edge of a ravine for portions of the trail.

Bow Corridor Link Trail is around 80% singletrack with a short section of four-wheel drive trail. It may be looped as a part of a larger, more intense ride combining Skogan Pass, Quaite Valley, Jewell Pass and Stoney. Or ride it one-way or as an out-and-back. The preferred way to ride this trail is out towards Heart Creek as it tends to flow better and going down the stairs is much easier than going up.

Rode this trail as part of the last stage of the Transrockies bike race. It was fun although we rode it in the opposite direction (east to west). In spite of all the stairs to climb up, it was vey fun and challenging and rather flowy but physically quite demanding in order to walk as little as possible.

Rather difficult trail for bikes. Rode in about 3K or 4K from the Deadman’s flats entry. Choppy riding, little flow. Constant sound of highway traffic. Turned back for Deadman’s, opting for a different trail. Would not go back to this one.
