Crankworx Whistler is only a week away and I’m jittery with anticipation! If you LOVE mountain biking as much as I do, than you’ll understand what all the fuss is about. On August 9, the world’s best downhill, slopestyle and enduro riders will gather at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park for the 10th Annual Crankworx. All things freeride, Crankworx is a 10-day festival of epic endurance, supreme flow, monster air and vertical-dropping riding. A time-tested stage for gravity-fed mountain biking, Crankworx has forged the future of freeride, launched careers and raised up a spectacle out of dirt, sweat and cheers. Feel the impact. Embrace the amplitude. Experience the awe that is Crankworx Whistler 2013.
Once again I’ll be at the heart of the action, taking in the shows, events and media parties. I cannot wait for this incredible event and I hope you too can make it out for what promisses to be a SPECTACULAR EVENT! If you cannot make it, not to worry as you can still tune in to watch the main events live at crankworx.com.
Crankworx is not just for those who ride, but a great event for families and kids of all ages (grown ups included) to take in the action. Chill on the patio with a cold one during the Joyride Slopestile or attend the Friday night crit with your family to watch a time-trial style road race on mountain bikes through the heart of Whistler Village. Attend the Cheese Rolling competition where you’ll get to sample some great cheese and watch people compete for a chance to win some great prizes in the Cheese Rolling main event. At Crankworx there is much to do and so much to see, that bikes are completely optional.
If you see me out during the show, wearing my bikepirate T, stop and say HI. I’ll have loads of bikepirate stickers to give out.
