Lower Stoney Squaw

Banff, Alberta, Canada

Lower Stoney Squaw is a very popular trail located in Banff National Park on Mt. Norquay, just minutes from Banff town centre. The trailhead is near the Norquay ski hill parking lot, making it accessible by vehicle and is suitable for downhill bikes. However, you’ll have as much fun on your all-mountain bike as you would barreling down this trail on your big rig. The trail is narrow, rocky, and very rooty near the bottom half of the track. It can be ridden fast, or at your own speed, and is loads of fun for the intermediate to advanced rider.

Watch out for bears and horses on this fast, technical descent and please be sure to close the fence gate behind you at the bottom of the trail.

Watch for several downed trees on both upper and lower SS. Otherwise trails are in great shape!

Tree down on Lower Stoney, about 3/4 down the trail. Please watch out for this obstacle until it is removed.
