Mount Shark MTB Trails

Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada

The Mount Shark mountain bike trails are a fun family excursion if you’re looking to explore the area on two wheels. Mostly made up of grass and gravel doubletrack, you’ll be riding on cross country ski trails not maintained for summer use, aside from the Watridge Lake Trail; therefore, watch out for deadfall and overgrown areas.

This system of trails offers rolling and scenic pedaling on wide gravel and fire roads. Follow the marked 10 km loop for a roller coaster of a ride up and down the grassy double track. The preferred option is to head out on the well-used and maintained Watridge Lake Trail (main trail) that takes you out towards Watridge Lake and beyond.

Although Mount Shark is open to mountain biking, we don’t recommend making a special trip out there for a ride unless you’re looking to explore the area with your family and prefer to do it on your mountain bikes.
