5KM is an advanced downhill trail located 2 km up (south) from the True Value trailhead on the fourth switchback of Bowle-Evans Drive access road. For accomplished riders, this advanced downhill trail will serve as a great warm-up to some of the longer and more technically advanced trails found on Mount 7. The access to the trailhead is well marked and begins with a short hike-a-bike section of about 10 m before you begin your descent. Expect some steep lines, plenty of roots and loose rocks in several sections of this trail. There are a few Technical Trail Features (TTFs) sprinkled along the descent. Please be sure to check these before you leap as they’ve seen better days. Mostly a speedy, steep, technical descent, 5KM will keep you on your toes all the way down to True Value. There are several spots along this descent that will challenge the advanced to expert rider. Luckily for those that get in over their heads, there are a few easier options to get around the committing sections.

If you found this trail out of your comfort zone, be warned as the higher up you go on the mountain the harder the trails will get. Therefore, consider exploring the intermediate/blue options instead – Summit or True Value.
