Awesome ride on the Rundle Riverside Trail today. The temperature was a nice 18 degrees with the sun shining bright. The trail was in great shape, only a few mud bogs here and there. It was calm out there today and we enjoyed the quiet while peddling up and down some pretty sweet singletrack.
Great ride down Stoney this afternoon. A few of us were nursing our hang overs from the fabulous wedding reception held the night before, which made the ride that much more exciting. After all the rain we’ve gotten the last … Read More
Climbed up the main road tonight past the 8km mark, over 800 meters high, to get to the start of CBC; it was well worth the effort peddling my Wilson all the way up with all my gear. The trails were busy, with a number of groups out riding. The conditions were slick and still pretty wet, especially on CBC. This made the down super challenging due to the steep rock faces and the man made wooden structures. The photos above were taken on CBC, showing just a few of the features on this trail.
Looks like the trail crew has been busy maintaining the trails. Rock Star has seen the addition of new table tops and the start to all the blue runs, which include Super Star, has been changed up to flow better and now also includes a few more table tops. The section where Super Star and LTG start/meet, has been cleaned up and a new berm has been added to make the transition flow better. Great work Silver Star!
Rode Gillard Creek again tonight, this time without incident. I was still sore from my crash the night before – shoulder is definitely swelled up – so took it easy. I found the trails a little confusing, the few times … Read More
I went up to ride Deathmarch after work and to my disappointment found that the trail no longer exist as I knew it – it’s only been a few weeks since I’ve ridden it. The killer climb is now closed off, dug up and covered by branches and logs. You can still climb up to the back of the Nordic Centre, but now you are diverted to the new trail – Back Door – recently built by the Nordic Centre crew. The full descent from top of Deathmarch is also gone, about halfway down you are diverted to the Back Door trail.
It was a beautiful night, around 26 degrees with blue skies, and we took advantage of it. Rode up Mt. Norquay Road to get to the lower part of Stoney. The descent was dry and super fast. It’s a great … Read More
