There are lots of exciting things going on in Golden regarding cycling! Including the recent approval for the Mountain Shadows trails network. Check out Pete’s post to get stoked on the riding season ahead.
The Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance (BVMBA) has been hard at work since the first spring like weather that began in mid-March. To fill you in on the happenings and to get you as excited as I am about the season ahead, I’ve asked Doug Topp, BVMBA President and bikepirate guest blogger, to provide the following report on the new trail planned to open this fall.
I love bike shows! They make me feel like a kid in a candy store, but more importantly they signify that the start to the riding season is near. To me, this is what makes the event so exciting and fun to attend. Not only do you get some good deals on the latest products, cycling gear and bikes, but here’s your chance to mingle and chat with likeminded peeps who share your passion and can’t wait for the season to start.
Happy New Year! I can’t believe we’re in 2013 already. Where has the season gone? As I sit in front of my office window gazing out at the surrounding mountain tops covered with freshly fallen snow and the constant tweets on my computer screen about the winter ahead, I can’t help but reminisce about my last big mountain bike trip of the season. About three weeks ago I ventured out to Campbell River, located an hour and half drive north of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island
Day one begins with the huge OutDoor Demo held at Bootleg Canyon. It’s like entering an amusement park, but instead of roller coasters the area is filled with bicycles of all sorts from most of the major bike brands, allowing the retailer and media to test current and new 2013 models on the fun singletrack trails of Bootleg Canyon. Surly, Giant, Specialized, Pivot and more are here for us to test and review.
