The Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance recently held a gathering of builders, riders and mountain bike advocates in recognition of outgoing BVMBA president Doug Topp. The event was held in Banff at the Magpie and Stump, during which time some big announcements were made about new funding and the new trail name. The Banff group continues to chug along on the new trail located on Tunnel Mountain, and we can actually (finally!) see the light at the end of the tunnel now. If you have some time, love to ride in Banff and appreciate the effort it takes to build a new trail, then come on out to help finish this new trail before winter sets in.
Ketchum, deep in south western Idaho is an outstanding mountain bike destination for anyone willing to make the effort to get there. Big climbs, tons of buff singletrack (400 miles by some accounts), some excellent technical, and several great opportunities to get into the alpine where panoramic views are massive.
