Beaver Lodge is a fantastic network of mountain bike trails located in the middle of Campbell River, just minutes from the downtown core. The area is well suited to families and bikes with burleys. A few really fun singletrack trails exist, but for the most part the trails are made up of wide gravel pathways offering very little elevation gain. If you’re an intermediate rider looking to gain some experience riding Technical Trail Features (TTFs), then check out the trail named Beaver Fever located in the southwest corner of Beaver Lodge; near the Dogwood Street parking area. The trail features a half a dozen or so TTFs and some really cool technical rock rolls, with ride around options for all.

Beaver Lodge is managed in partnership with the province, city and local River City Cycle Club. The trails here are all multi-use; please give way to dog walkers and joggers. Most of the trails in the area remain snow free year round, allowing you to explore this great network of trails with your family virtually anytime.

The main trails are Rail Trail and Airport Main. Rail Trail and Airport Main run from the north end of the park to the south end and serve as the main arteries/connector trails. Both are nice and wide on gentle rolling terrain, wide enough for families and their burleys. For riders looking to take it up a notch, there are plenty of options to loop and combine the varied network of singletrack trails running east and west of Airport Main and Rail Trail. All main junctions are well marked with maps and trail names, making the area easy to navigate.

Trask Road access and parking is located at the end of Trask Road. From downtown Campbell River drive south on Dogwood Street to Merecroft Road. Turn onto Merecroft Road and drive west for about 1 km. Merecroft will turn into Trask Road just down the hill and around the bend. The parking lot is at the end of Trask Road on your right.

Trail options

There are several options and loops to ride in this area. Ride the main trails Airport Main and Rail Trail out-and-back or create a fun 7 km loop combining these two trails, which run parallel to each other north and south. If you’re looking to experience the area’s singletrack, then make sure to hit up Pony Trail and Beaver Fever. Both fun and flowy singletrack options. Beaver Fever includes a number of Technical Trail Features (TTFs) – ladders, rock rolls and bridges – for you to test your skills.
