Beaver Pass is an advanced one-way trail, ridden from Stonebridge Drive north to Alta Lake Road. Located in Whistler’s Westside, Beaver Pass is accessed via Stonebridge Drive, 60 m north of Danimal North trailhead. The route consists of rooty and rocky singletrack, power line access road, granite slab ridge riding and loose gravel and rock descending. There are some incredible views to be had along this route, all located in the clear cuts underneath the power lines.
Beaver Pass begins with a winding singletrack climb, before it spits out onto a private road. Cross the road to connect back up with the trail. Look for it to head right (east) up the loose dirt and gravel; paralleling the private drive. Right after the loose section the trail will spit out underneath the power lines; continue left (north) along the trail to an optional ridge line. The original line stays left and drops down into the forest. An optional line veers right and is well worth checking out. This line continues underneath the power lines and will send you down a stiff, yet manageable rocky ridge. Descend this section to meet up with the singletrack below and continue down along the trail; now back in the trees, all the way to Whip Me Snip Me. Just before the Whip Me Snip Me junction, ride over a surprise skinny. Cross Whip Me Snip Me to Lower Beaver Pass. More rooty goodness will follow, along with a section of trail taking you out and underneath the power lines once again for more views. The final few hundred metres drops back into the woods for some more rocky and rooty fun, before finishing on a steep sidehill descent down to Alta Lake Road. Beaver Pass spits out just north of Rainbow Park, from where you can access A River Runs Through It to ride it in reverse.
