Boney Elbows is a great line incorporating a few significant rock features. One medium roll, one large roll, and one short, steep, fracture-rich drop. There is a ride-around for the latter. Amidst these rock lines are some flowy x-country sections and some short technical climbs. The views are incredible and the rock work is jaw dropping.

David Reid has done a fantastic job on Boney Elbows, his first build in Squamish. As he put it, this trail was built by trying to follow the footsteps of legendary trail builder Dan Raymond. I think he’s done a great job mimicking the man behind the sweet A Rockwork Orange and Korova Milk Bar trails. While the trail name is Dave’s son Griffin’s nickname, due to the rib shots he gives while they wrestle.

The trail is accessed via Entrails and End-Hole Connector. When riding Entrails you will come across a junction with End-Hole Connector. Take a right here to leave Entrails. Watch for the trailhead for Boney Elbows to come up quickly on your left. There is a sign a few trees in, but you really have to look for it. Boney Elbows doesn’t mess around and begins with two optional lines, both very challenging; if you don’t like what you see, turnaround now. The option to the right provides a fast, steep ride down one of the longest rock rides found in the area. Boney Elbows end on the spur road between the end of Entrails and Room With A View.
