Mount Seymour boasts a large number of downhill/freeride trails near the bottom of the mountain, but CBC is the only trail that runs from the upper parking lot to the Mushroom parking lot at mid-mountain. This makes it one of the most heavily ridden trails on the North Shore; it’s an armoured workhorse that sees thousands of riders every year.

The trail got its name back when the trailhead was hidden behind the CBC transmitter towers located at the 3rd switchback of the Seymour access road. Now the trailhead is clearly signed and right on the corner so you can’t miss it. Over the last few years CBC has seen a lot of maintenance in the form of rock armouring, drainage and heavy duty woodwork. It features many technical trail features and challenging natural sections like steep, rocky roll-downs. One highlight of the trail is the Millenium Log, a big tree that’s been planed flat to form a long bridge. The flattened section is easily a foot wide, but the tree is still high enough you won’t want to fall off. The good news is that a lot of the technical trail features have ride-arounds, making CBC accessible to riders from intermediate to expert level. Having said that, this is not an easy trail and is rated advanced to expert. You definitely need some skills to have a good time on this trail and more if you want to ride it clean. And always remember that it’s important to check out stunts before you ride them. Only a few have tricky exits or mandatory airs, but a couple of the bridges will take you high up off the ground and become pretty skinny near the end, and others are getting slippery with age. Please ride with care.

Drive or ride up Mount Seymour Road. The trailhead is on the outside, west side, of the 4th switchback and is clearly marked and worn in.
