Crown Point is a downhill/all-mountain trail that can easily be shuttled. Located on the south end of Rossland, this trail is a favourite among locals. A classic downhill track that takes the rider through a lush forest, Crown Point is a delight to ride. The trail is littered with several Technical Trail Features (TTFs) all built to last and for the most part with ride around options. Skinnies and wooden drops of all sizes (nothing too large or scary) will keep the rider on their toes. All TTFs are built to incorporate the flow of the trail. Although this trail is rated advanced, intermediate riders looking to progress their riding will find this a good option to tackle.

To shuttle Crown Point begin by parking a retrieval vehicle in Warfield at the designated parking area for Railgrade trail, located besides the Village Square Park and Community Center. Pile into a second vehicle and drive over to the Malde Creek FSR in Rossland. Malde Creek FSR is south of Spokane Street. Take the Malde Creek FSR for about 3 km until you reach the turn off for Birch Main FSR (gated), located just below the trailhead for Whiskey. Turn left onto Birch Main FSR and park before the gate (room for 3 to 4 vehicles). From there ride along the Birch Main FSR for 3 km, passing the trailhead for lower Whiskey and Cherry Poppins, to the well-marked trailhead for Crown Point; located at the dead-end of the FSR. The trail heads into the woods along a flowy singletrack trail with a few technical rocky sections. Cruise along this stretch of trail all the way to the Tiger Main FSR. Once you pop out onto the FSR, turn right and ride up the hill just past the gate. Crown Point will head back into the woods, to your left, just past the gate. From here on in its high speed riding for the first bit, before the trail gets a little more technical and you start to hit up the first few TTFs. The remainder of the trail will see you riding skinnies, airing drops and tackling short and steep techy bits. The last few hundred meters of the trail mellows out completely just before you spit out onto the Gas Line Road (FSR). From there, turn right, followed by an immediate left onto another access road taking you to the Lower Switchback trail. Lower Switchback is well-marked and indicates the direction to Warfield. Follow Lower Switchback to Railgrade (marked), take a right onto Railgrade and ride it out all the way to the Railgrade parking area. It’s a really mellow cruise out to your shuttle vehicle from where Crown Point ends.
