Hot Laps is a downhill trail built for the beginner rider. A part of the Moose Mountain trail network, Hot Laps has seen better days and is in need of some TLC. It has become overgrown and hard to follow, due to the lack of traffic. Hot Laps use to be the only option for beginner downhill riders, but now there is Brakeless and Family Guy. Both trails are well maintained and a lot more fun to ride. In my humble opinion, Hot Laps is only worth riding if you’re looking to say that you’ve done it.

Hot Laps is a low angle trail, with no Technical Trail Features (TTFs) to worry about. It is one hundred percent singletrack all the way down to Elbow Valley trail, which runs perpendicular to it. Cross Elbow Valley and continue on down Pneuma to spit out at the bottom of Moose Mountain Road. Watch out for riders pedaling up Pneuma when blasting down it. Pneuma is a popular x-country trail providing access to several trails on Moose Mountain.

Access Hot Laps via Moose Mountain Road. Drive 2.8 km up Moose Mountain Road and look for the trailhead to your right; east side of the road. It is clearly marked, but sometimes hard to spot when driving your vehicle.
