Iron Springs is a popular cross country ski trail in the winter and a heavily used equestrian trail in the summer. Mountain biking is allowed, but not a whole lot of fun in the spring or after heavy rain; due to the many mud bogs and high horse traffic. It is a scenic trail with minimal elevation gains and very few gradual climbs.

Iron Springs is a wide doubetrack that pops in and out of the woods, offering many scenic viewpoints along the way. Best used to access Boundary Ridge and/or Snagmore in the West Bragg Creek Trails network, Iron Springs serves as a great connecting route. If you prefer riding doubletrack over the flowy intermediate singletrack trails in the area, then this one is for you. Families looking for something tame may loop Iron Springs with Elbow Trail for an 11 km beginner loop.

Access Iron Springs directly via Sundog Loop from the West Bragg Creek parking lot. From Bragg Creek take Balsam Ave west to Centre Ave. Turn southwest (left) at the T-junction onto Centre Ave. Drive southwest on Centre Ave, which will turn into Township Rd. 232. Continue on Township Rd. 232 until you hit the gravel road. Cross the cattle guard and drive to the well-marked parking area just ahead on your right (500 metres down the road). The trail is accessed via Sundog Loop south of the parking lot.
