Lake Loop is a fun, yet short, singletrack trail which almost completely circles Mosquito Lake. Combine it with Mosquito Lake Road for a full loop around the lake or use it to access Jim-Jam, Log and Rock or Mosquito Lake Trail. The trail may be ridden in either direction, although we found it flowed a little nicer when ridden clockwise. When riding the trail clockwise, begin your ride from the Mosquito Lake parking area and head right (west) to the trailhead. Lake Loop is located to the north of Mosquito Lake Road and begins with a climb up a short and wide doubletrack leading towards the hydro lines. At the top of the short climb, you will be treated to some amazing views before heading off into the woods. The remainder of the trail circles Mosquito Lake among the dense forest canopy. The route follows a gently rolling singletrack littered with small rocks and roots before it finally pops back out onto Mosquito Lake Road, from where you will have to pedal along a short section of gravel road back to the parking area.

Lake Loop is one of the easier intermediate trails located in Mosquito Lake Area and may be combined with several other trails to form a variety of longer x-country loops. For a relatively easy and short intermediate ride, consider the following figure eight option: Lake Loop (clockwise)> Mosquito Lake Trail (Sadies)> Mosquito Lake Road (east)> Lake Loop> Mosquito Lake Trail. This is a short, but fun introductory ride for beginners, pushing intermediate, not comfortable with some of the tougher intermediate rides located in the area. It will take from 30 min – 1 hour to complete.

Lake Loop is best ridden clockwise. The access to the trailhead is about 140 m west of the Mosquito Lake parking area. Ride west (right) out of the parking area and look for a wide doubletrack trail climbing right, below the hydro lines. This is the trailhead for Lake Loop.
