Lower Griffen Switchbacks are more challenging than Lower Griffen but not at all dangerous. As the name suggests the trail switchbacks down a steep grade before running out across a bench to join the trail out to McNair. While some of the corners can be a bit tight, making them a real challenge to navigate, there is only one line of log rides that is actually technical enough to pose a real test. The line is optional, cutting off one of the corners. In recent years the switchbacks have been buffed and reinforced making the trail a lot of fun to ride. If you don’t have the patience for Lower Griffen, or the skill to ride Immonator, the Lower Griffen Switchbacks are a great choice to finish up your ride down lower Fromme.

The trailhead is accessed via Lower Griffen, just west of where Natural High ends. It is clearly marked with a wooden signpost and cannot be missed.
