Moby Dick is an advanced all-mountain/downhill run located in Mosquito Lake Area. The trail is typically combined with Ramble On and Dark Forest to form a fast, yet somewhat technical descent down towards the train tracks; from there it’s a short pedal back to the gravel pit parking area. The trail runs south from Mosquito Lake and is accessed directly by Ramble On, an intermediate trail. Although Moby Dick is super short, the trail forms an important connector to the third section of Dark Forest and when accessed via Ramble On serves as a great warm up run for those new to riding the advanced trails located in Pemberton.

The trailhead for Moby Dick is well-marked. It heads west (right) at the halfway mark on Ramble On. Ramble On continues left and up a short climb, before it descends down to Cream Puff. Moby Dick begins with a technical rock slab and continues down a rocky and rooty route. There are several more sections of steep technical slabs, one in particular which has a ride around for those not comfortable with the run out. The trail eventually meets up with the ending to lower Grumpy Grouse and continues on down to the Dark Forest trail. There is no trailhead sign for Dark Forest, just two options at the fork; right or left and both meet up, which signifies that you are now descending Dark Forest trail. For the ultimate combination, begin by riding down Cream Puff to Ramble On. Continue descending Ramble On to Moby Dick and finish off via Dark Forest. This combination of fun intermediate and advanced trails serves as an awesome introductory ride to the type of tracks found in the area.
