Nairn-One Mile is a technically challenging x-country trail which may be ridden all the way to the Nairn Falls campground. Its’ primary use is to access Lumpy’s Epic. In fact most riders refer to the first section of Nairn-One Mile as Lumpy’s, which may confuse riders new to the area. The trail gradually climbs up a rooty and rocky singletrack until it reaches the trailhead for Lumpy’s. From the trailhead for Lumpy’s, Nairn-One Mile continues right (south) towards Nairn Falls campground. If your plan is to continue on up Lumpy’s, but you found the pedal up Nairn-One Mile beyond your ability, consider skipping Lumpy’s all together as this advanced trail is much more challenging than Nairn. The final leg of Nairn will cross the newly built Sea to Sky Trail just before it spits the rider out at the campground below. From the campground return the way you came, visit the falls, or take the Sea to Sky Trail back to the One Mile Lake.
The trailhead for Nairn-One Mile is accessed via the Overhill Trail. As mentioned above, a large number of riders refer to the first section of Nairn as Lumpy’s because there is no trailhead sign for Nairn, rather a sign indicating the direction to Lumpy’s is found at the trailhead for Nairn-One Mile. Begin by riding up the Sea to Sky trail directly from the One Mile Lake parking lot. Turn left onto the Overhill Trail, clearly marked, and pedal 50 m up Overhill to the sign for Lumpy’s. Follow the sign for Lumpy’s (right); this is the official trailhead for Nairn-One Mile.
