Pothole Arch is accessed via Amasa Back and offers a fun technical extension to the trail. A combination of advanced signletrack and slick rock riding that will make you feel like you’re pedaling on the moon, this extension is well worth doing if you have the time. Only 6 km return, the ride also provides access to Rockstocker, a very exciting and somewhat dangerous expert descent. At the end of Pothole Arch, you’ll be treated to some fantastic views of the surrounding valley. Take a break, fuel up, enjoy the views and return the way you came.

Trail options

For those a little more adventurous, consider taking Rockstacker to Jackson’s Trail to return to the Amasa Back parking lot if you are not up for returning the way you came. This is an expert ride along a very exposed and technical ledge; making it a very dangerous option. Ride at your own risk and get ready to be thrilled. Refer to the Amasa Back PDF map showing both trail options.
