Located in the Mackenzie Area and accessed via Blood, Sweat and Fear, Psychopath is a fun all-mountain and downhill rock ride. There are no technical trail features on this trail, just lots of rock slabs and short sections of steeps, before the trail mellows out about halfway down the descent. The first portion is techy and loads of fun, offering up some sweet views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The remainder is less tech and more of a high speed cruise to the Mackenzie FSR where it eventually spits out. Be careful flying down the second part of this trail in early spring when you can expect blow down and protruding branches to stick out onto the trail, easily snagging your shorts or pack. Getting hung up, or cut by the piercing branches, would not be a nice way to end your day.
Psychopath spits out onto the Mackenzie FSR, which you can follow down to the gravel pit. Alternatively, extend your riding enjoyment by combining Psychopath with the second section to Mission Impossible. To do so, descend down to the switchback ahead. At the switchback, instead of continuing on down the FSR, head straight into the woods and look for the well-marked trailhead for Mission Impossible located on the south side of the trail.
Direct access to Psychopath is via the Mackenzie FSR, although most riders will pedal to it using the Happy Trail and Waco Connector, taking Waco Connector to the Mackenzie FSR. The trailhead for Blood, Sweat and Fear begins right below the east end of Waco Connector. 20 m down Blood, Sweat and Fear is the trailhead for Psychopath.
