Riders of Rohan is another popular shuttle run in Canmore. The trail is rated advanced to expert and consists of steep, rocky singletrack terrain that takes you whirling back down to the Quarry (Dog Park) parking lot. Expect loose, rocky, and very steep terrain on this fun descent.

The trail is best ridden in the spring and early summer, as it tends to be in much better shape. By late summer Riders gets very loose; small and loose rocks line the perfect route and make the banked corners much harder to navigate. The Highline trail crosses Riders mid-section and near the bottom, so please watch out for riders making their way up the trail.

Riders is only 1.4 km in length. However, when combined with the trail leading to the Quarry parking lot, it’s closer to 3 km.

Drive or ride up Spray Lakes Rd. (Hwy 742) from Three Sisters Drive towards Whitemans Pond; Spray turns to Smith-Dorrien Road once it turns to gravel. Park at Whitemans Pond and double back to the dam. Crossing the dam, ride towards the fenced-off area next to the power lines. At the end of the fence push your bike up the goat trail running up into the trees, northeast of the fence. A short climb brings you to a T-junction; turn left to begin your descent.
