Roots, rocks, roll and ripping, Sex Boy isn’t the craziest of the Cypress Mountain trails but it can certainly hold its own. The initial roll-in is a lot tamer than Sex Girl’s but it’s a good indicator of the rest of the trail. There are a lot of great steep sections, most of which aren’t too long, but are technical and require full concentration. The builders did a great job of locating some of the prime rock faces in the area and the trail snakes between them. Sometimes it’s even mellow as it traverses the mountain, but in others the steep terrain is rutted more than a foot deep by years of heavy use. The bridge work on the trail is getting old, so be careful when it’s even a little wet as the rungs can be very slick. It’s also important to check out every section before you ride it. There are a couple of truly heavy optional sections that you might not want to find yourself on.
