This fun, short descent takes you down from the Hidden Ridge Resort to the Inns of Banff and spits you out on Banff Avenue. It’s a great option if you’ve just finished riding Tunnel Loop or any of the trails located on Tunnel Mountain and need to get downtown, but would like to avoid riding the road down. The route is suitable to the beginner rider and snakes its way down the hill. Each corner is made up of a well-constructed berm, making for an enjoyable descent. There are a few optional jumps and a nice long straightaway where you can pick up some speed as you near the Inns of Banff.

This is a great introductory trail for children aged six years and older to teach them balance and braking. It also serves as good intro for beginner riders who might be nervous about descending trails with bermed corners, giving them ample opportunity to develop their skills on a trail that is relatively low angle and low risk.

TRAILHEAD | N51 11.235 W115 32.783

The trailhead to Snake is located west (left) of the entrance to Hidden Ridge Resort up on Tunnel Mountain. It is not marked, but is clearly visible once you near the entrance to Hidden Ridge. Both the Tunnel Campground Loop and Tunnel Loop pass next to it once you approach Hidden Ridge.
