Special K is a short singletrack trail found in the One Mile Lake Area which acts as a direct connector to Dog Beach. It crosses the original K2 trail and is located near the Overhill/K2 Connector junction. The trail is best descended north from the K2 and Overhill/K2 Connector junction, but may also be climbed. Just watch out for riders barrelling down the trail if you decide to pedal up it. The trail descends to the entrance for Dog Beach. It switchbacks and rolls along loamy terrain with several small jumps lining its route. These may be aired when taken at speed or rolled for those not comfortable with their wheels leaving the ground. Blink and the trail will be over before you know it. Less than 100 m down Special K, the trail merges with K2. Just as quickly as it merges, Special K will veer right at the well-signed junction and continues on down towards Dog Beach. Keeping left will take the rider to an alternative exit, eventually leading down towards the One Mile lake.

Direct access is via the Overhill/K2 Connector Trail. From the One Mile Lake parking lot take the Sea to Sky Trail to Overhill. Climb Overhill to the well-marked Overhill/K2 Connector. Take the Overhill/K2 Connector up to the first junction. Keep left at this junction and 10 m down the trail look for a well-defined singletrack heading left. This is Special K. If you miss it, you will head down a section of K2, which merges with Special K after the first switchback.
