Top of the World is the first lift accessed high alpine ride in North America offering some incredible 360 degree views from the top of the Peak Chair on Whistler mountain. A must do ride for those that enjoy high alpine riding, without having to exert the effort of a long pedal up. Top of the World offers incredible and stunning views of the surrounding mountain peaks and the Whistler Village in the valley below. The trail is made up of singletrack and dobuletrack, although work continues on this five kilometer delight to make it a 100% singletrack descent. Opened in 2012, Top of the World is the latest addition to the Whistler Bike Park and offers some of the best alpine riding in the world.

Top of the World is rated advanced to expert. The expert part is the short section of singletrack trail that drops-in from the trailhead. Huge open space, ridden on a tight and narrow, loose and rocky, singletrack is what gives the start its expert (double black) rating. The wide and exposed alpine terrain makes one feel very small; which can be intimidating for the inexperienced and experienced rider alike. The terrain and the singletrack is awesome to ride, it combines technical trail riding with flow. Over 1,400 metres of vertical awaits those who start at the Top of the World and make their way down through the Bike Park to the base of the mountain. If you’re into big mountain riding, but would like to skip the pedal up, this is a must do. Only 100 riders per day are given access to this exciting new trail, so book in advanced during busy periods.

Top Of The World reconnects with the Garbanzo zone (Whistler Bike Park) on the upper reaches of Freight Train.
