Upper Babylon is an original Whistler epic and one that will require skill and stamina to complete. Access to this trail is via Microwave climb from either the Whistler Interpretive Forest parking lot or Kadenwood Drive. You can also climb up to the tower from the bottom of Khyber’s Pass. This full on steep technical singletrack includes a rope assisted scramble down a particularly nasty rock drop found at the halfway point. There are plenty of rideable rock features and steep natural lines for expert riders to enjoy. The final section of trail, before hitting an access road, consists of some very burly wooden ladder features that overhang a cliff and are starting to look a little rickety – check your line before dropping down these. This section is followed by a long wooden skinny across a swamp, look for it to be overgrown during the summer months. Once you pop out onto the access road take a left to continue down the advanced trail Babylon By Bike. You will pass by the trail See Colours and Puke, to your left, which takes you down to Cheakamus River valley and the Logger’s Lake trail network. Babylon By Bike finishes on Mircrowave climb from where you turn left to head down to Tunnel Vision and It’s Business Time. Turn right to head back up the hill for more two-wheeled adventures.

From the top end of Kadenwood Drive, begin your climb up the access road ahead. Ride past the gate and continue straight up the trail (do not turn left or right). Climb until the first fork located at the switchback. Keep straight (right) to ride ahead and connect up with Microwave climb. Continue left and up the well-worn Mircowave climb until you near the tower. Upper Babylon is not marked, but heads left into the woods down a well-defined singletrack just below the last switchback to the tower.

Alternatively, descend to the trailhead from Khyber Pass. Take a left and head up Microwave climb (access road), where Khyber spits out, to access Upper Babylon.
