Upper Griffen is a great trail for beginner riders or those new to riding in the area. One of the older trails located on Mount Fromme, Upper Griffen contains a few Technical Trail Features (TTFs) to provide the trail with flow and specifically to get the rider across watercourses. It may be ridden either direction and on a downhill, all-mountain or x-country bike.

Accessed directly from Mountain Highway right by the water tower and bathrooms or just off of Cedar Trail; Upper Griffen may be combined with several of the lower trails on Fromme to create a fun descent down to McNair Drive or to form a loop if you’re out for more of a x-country ride. The trail accesses various trailheads, including Lower Griffen, King of the Shore and Another Roadside Attraction.

Access Upper Griffen via Cedar Trail, just off of Mountain Highway before the first switchback. Or look for it next to the water tower and bathrooms on Mountain Highway if accessing the south trailhead.
