Whole Lotta Up is an epic cross country ride that begins at the Ribbon Creek day use/parking area in Kananaskis Village. The trail combines a number of must do rides to form a large loop circling Pigeon Mountain, Mount McGillivray, Heart Mountain and Mary Barclay’s Mountain back to the Ribbon Creek Parking lot.

To start this epic adventure, park at Ribbon Creek and pedal up Skogan Pass; follow the signs to the trailhead from the parking area. Skogan Pass trail is the first leg of your journey and is best ridden northwest making the climbing bearable as the trail gradually takes you up to the Pass. The views from the Skogan Pass Viewpoint are fantastic and well worth the short 250 metre side trip to access the lookout. From the lookout return to the main trail and continue north up Skogan Pass Trail; the Pass is not far off. A fast and wide singletrack descent down to Pigeon Creek begins once you’ve hit the Pass. At the bottom of the descent, from the parking lot, ride the dirt road towards Hwy 1 and look for the Bow Corridor Link Trail to your right. Jump on the Bow Corridor Link to head east. This is an advanced to expert trail which will challenge the most competent rider, especially after completing the first leg of this journey. Once you hit the Heart Creek day use area, continue on Quaite Valley Connector east to Quaite Valley. A short, fun, and fast singletrack trail that will give your legs a break before hitting the long and steep Quaite Valley climb. Ride up (south) Quaite Valley to the Prairie View and Jewell Pass Junction, taking Jewell Pass southeast all the way to Stoney Trail. Once on Stoney, the home stretch, continue south (right) back to the Ribbon Creek parking lot. The last stretch is wide open and can be really hot in the sun, make sure to pack loads of water and refreshments for this ride.

Take Hwy 40 south to the Kananaskis Village turnoff (Mount Allen Drive). Drive a few hundred metres on Mount Allen and turn left onto Centennial Drive; followed by a quick right to Ribbon Creek day use area. From there the ride starts up Skogan Pass Trail; well-marked.
