Zen Trail is a cross country loop located near St. George town centre. You can access it right from town or drive up to the carpark and begin your ride from there. The loop offers some incredible 360 degree views from the mesa above. Although there is not a lot of elevation gain, the majority of the climbing is tough and technical, taking you up to the top of the mesa. The descent back down is fast and challenging, keeping you on your toes all the way down.

The trail rides best counter clockwise, although it may be ridden either direction. Expect some technically demanding sections, along with slickrock, exposure and incredible views. It is definitely one of the toughest technical rides in the St. George area and a must do if you’re up for the challenge. You won’t be disappointed with the views and the challenging rock sections that will keep you coming back if you obsess about cleaning them.

Please stay on the designated trail when riding this loop. You are riding in a very ecologically sensitive area.

From town take Dixie Dr. south to Canyon View Dr. west. Once on Canyon View Dr. continue onto the dirt road taking you down a few hundred metres into the first parking area (not marked, but apparent) in the valley below. Begin your ride up the doubletrack road ahead, west not south unless riding clockwise, as shown in photo below. You’ll take a left, about 50 metres up the road, onto a tighter and more challenging doubletrack which eventually turns to slickrock.
